The DOT Compliance Manager leads the company’s U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) and FMCSA compliance program to reduce risk, improve safety performance, and ensure ongoing adherence to federal, state, and local regulations. Key Responsibilities
  • Administer DOT/FMCSA compliance programs, serving as a primary contact for audits, inspections, roadside documentation, and regulatory correspondence.
  • Maintain driver qualification (DQ) files and driver compliance, including CDL verification, medical certificates, MVRs, HOS/ELD monitoring, and drug & alcohol testing coordination (as applicable).
  • Ensure vehicle, inspection, and maintenance compliance through oversight of DVIRs, periodic inspections, maintenance records, and CSA/inspection trends.
  • Deliver DOT compliance training, guidance, and tools for drivers, dispatch, and field leadership to prevent violations and improve compliance.
  • Conduct internal audits, track compliance metrics, support incident documentation, and assist with corrective action plans to maintain audit readiness.
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of DOT/FMCSA compliance experience with strong knowledge of 49 CFR regulations.
  • Experience with ELD/HOS systems, audits, inspections, and compliance documentation.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and training skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
  • Multi-state or mixed-fleet experience and safety/compliance certifications (NATMI, TSI, or similar) preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting multi-state DOT compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • Familiarity with mixed fleet operations, including CDL and non-CDL vehicles.
  • Working knowledge of CSA/SMS and roadside inspection score improvement strategies.
  • Exposure to safety performance programs, audits, and compliance-driven risk reduction.
  • DOT safety or compliance certifications such as NATMI, TSI coursework, or equivalent credentials preferred.
